VSF Liaison Officers

For each project for which it acts as a broker, VSF appoints a Liaison Officer, who devotes time to matching suitable partners. The liason officer is not involved in the implementation of the project concerned, but he/she is nevertheless pivotal to the success of the relationship.

VSF Liaison Officers have a clear understanding of what each party wants out of a relationship and can support partners working in an unfamiliar situation - raising awareness on both sides and helping to avoid potential misunderstandings.

They attempt to understand charities' issues, and source suitable talent to achieve the charities' identified goals. They also understand how needs can be translated into practical actions, so they are in a position to offer individual members of VSF's Bank of Talent opportunities that will help meet the charity's needs.

The liaison officers will then facilitate the definition of a plan of action suitable for both parties, ans support them for the life of the partnership, continuing to check progress and providing VSF with updates.

If you think you have what it takes to be a Liaison Officer, state your interest when filling out the application form, and use the heading "Liaison Officer" in the subject line of your email to vsf_members@yahoo.co.uk.
