Energy, enthusiasm and commitment. Qualities that Vital Spark Forum volunteers bring to the Cancer Counselling Trust (CCT).

The CCT offers specialised counselling services to anyone affected by cancer. The Trust's innovative approach supports not only patients but also their family and friends. We spoke to Yelena Greenway, Director of the CCT, about how the VSF Bank of Talent is able to help.

“We were looking for some significant support; we needed business advice, marketing expertise and help with fundraising.” Yelena explained. “So when I first heard about VSF from one of our staff I decided to find out more.”

“VSF matched us with five fantastic volunteers – each with their own field of knowledge,” Yelena told us. “They gave us an objective business view of our services, charges and image and delivered expert advice on developing all aspects of our operation. One of the volunteers even convinced her brother to design our database!”

“The talents of all these people were very valuable to me. When I was hired as Director of the CCT in April 2004, they were my first point of reference. I'm very grateful for their support and generosity.”
