Turners Court Youth Trust, set up in 1911, Turners Court Youth Trust works as a catalyst for innovation. Its aim is to help children, young people and families fulfil their full potential by developing high quality early intervention and prevention services. Turners Court Youth Trust currently manages 2 main youth programmes with this aim:
· PAFT: Parents as First Teachers: a research based programme for parents of children under 5 years. It provides information and practical support that will help them understand and contribute towards their child's social, emotional and educational development during this crucial period of intense learning.
· LINKS: this programme was set up by Turners Court Youth Trust in 1999 as an early intervention programme working in partnership with Social Services and the Housing, Community and Education Directorate of Reading Borough Council. The programme is aimed at reducing the number of children requiring a statement of special educational needs, being excluded from school and entering the 'looked after' care system.
